Fundamentals of Classifiers in ASL

Total hours: 12 hours
The two sessions (two days) will provide the participants a definition
of classifiers in ASL, a discussion and demonstration of the three kinds
of classifiers (representative. descriptive, and instrumental).
The sessions will include small group exercises for practice in improving
their use of the classifiers presented. Each participant will identify
strengths and areas needing professional development. Students will
learn the three types of classifiers, learn and use the representative
classifiers (animate and inanimate), the descriptive classifiers
(size-and-shape, extent, perimeter, and pattern and texture), and the instrumental
classifiers.
Taught in ASL.
