ASL for Educational Interpreters - Beginner

Total hours: 24 (8 weeks)

This course will provide the participants an introduction or for some, a refresher course, in the grammar and structure of American Sign Language.  This course does not place an emphasis on the vocabulary development; rather it emphasizes language grammar and its uses.  The participants will be involved in various activities that will reinforce the development of specific skills in ASL.  Additionally, the course offers instruction, review, and discussion of the cultural aspects of ASL.

Taught in ASL.
