ASL for Educational Interpreters - Intermediate Part A

Total hours: 24 (8 weeks)
This course will focus on continuing to learn ASL grammar features - visual
information, non-manual markers, pronominalization, syntax, classifiers,
and incorporation of fingerspelling and numbers. Participants will
continue to acquire more sign vocabulary. Additionally, participants
will gain additional information in the following Deaf history/culture
topics - ASL beginnings in America, introduction to Deaf community, signer
feedback, attention-getting strategies, information sharing, ASL vs. signed
English, other communication modes, Deaf vs. deaf and labeling.
Taught in ASL.
