ASL for Educational Interpreters - Intermediate Part B

Prerequisite:  ASL for Educational Interpreters - Intermediate, Part A

Total hours: 18 hours  (6 weeks)

This course is an continuiation of conceptes covered in ASL for Educational Interpreters Intermediate Part A.  The particiapants will exapand their practice of the grammar and structure of American Sign Language in areas such as classifiers, fingerspelling and numbers, syntax, and use of space.  In addition, the participants' vocabulary may be expanded in some parts of this course.  However, this course does not place emphasis on vocabulary development; rather it emphasizes language grammar and its uses.  The participants will be involved in various activities that will reinforce the development of specific skills in ASL.  Additionally, the course offers instruction, review, and discussion of the cultural aspects of ASL.
