This workshop will provide participants with an opportunity to further develop ethical thinking and decision making, specific to the 7th and 8th grades educational setting.  Educational interpreters often find themselves in a long-term assignment, interacting with Deaf students, hearing students and other professionals in a learning community where every adult is looked upon as a teacher and potential role model.  Through readings, lectures, guided discussions and role play scenarios, participants will analyze the ethical role of interpreters in the educational setting, how functioning as a team member is affected by the RID Code of Ethics and how to respond to seeming conflicts with the Code of Ethics and role of the educational interpreter in a professional manner.
