Positive Behavioral Management Techniques for Interpreters

Total hours: 6 hours

Participants will be exposed to understanding issues dealing with behavioral problems that may erupt during interpreting or in a tutorial session.  They will develop a sensitivity and understanding of the underlying causes.  They will begin to understand what effective communication is with these deaf students.  They will learn how the support team develops an effective behavioral plan that will enhance the use of interpreting services as well as provide positive management skills for tutorial sessions before issues escalate to the point of needing the intervention of a teacher or principal.
